Launch Strong with The Bootcamp

The Bootcamp is a 3-hour intensive workshop designed to provide emerging managers with strategic assistance as they plan and launch new funds. The focus of the sessions will be on effective fundraising, developing an effective "pitch", establishing back office operations and LP reporting—and will feature an open exchange between emerging managers who have launched and "graduated" in the eyes of plan sponsors along with those just launching their investment businesses.

"Launching a new business—especially in this environment—is challenging. We want to provide emerging managers with the knowledge and tools needed to help them launch strong and successfully," said Irene Moram, Principal, Talon Eight, LLC. There's a tendency among entrepreneurs to focus time, energy and resources in one area of the operation, sometimes to the detriment of other areas. Operational excellence and efficiency are key drivers for success, and the Bootcamp will help instill those principles."

By leveraging the experience and advice of managers who have "been there before", The Bootcamp curriculum will help emerging managers learn and apply best practices to all areas of their business, from fundraising and interacting with LPs to marketing and making a solid pitch.

"We encourage all emerging managers to participate—those ready to launch will benefit from the wisdom and advice of colleagues, and more established managers can benefit from serving as mentors and valuable sounding boards. Together, our goal is to expand the pool of qualified—and successful minority and women-owned firms," added Moram.

Moram and Debra Draughan, Managing Member, The Process Management Group, LLC, are serving as co-chairs of The Bootcamp. Space at The Bootcamp is limited to maximize interactions—so we encourage emerging managers to register early.
